(SportsRadio 610) - As the Texans begin their prep to host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon at NRG Stadium, they could be looking at starting a third different player at the left tackle position already this season.
While left tackle Laremy Tunsil has missed the last two games with a knee injury, Josh Jones has filled in at the position.
However, Jones was not seen on the practice field during the portion open to the media, as second-year pro and former sixth-round pick Austin Deculus was manning the position.
If Deculus has to start Sunday against the Steelers, it would be the third different starting lineup on the offensive line through four games this season.
The former LSU Tiger was inactive for much of last season due to an ankle injury. Deculus was made active the final five weeks of the regular season and played sparingly only on special teams.
The idea of the Steelers all-time sack leader T.J. Watt lining up against Deculus is frightening.
Watt already has 12 quarterback hits on the season and is currently the NFL's leader in sacks with six through three weeks.
Meanwhile, the Texans should have safety Jalen Pitre back this week against the Steelers. Pitre was fully dressed and practicing for the first time since week one.
He missed the previous two games after suffering a bruised lung against the Baltimore Ravens in the Texans regular season opener.
Pitre, along with veteran safety Jimmie Ward could be on the field for the first time together since the preseason.
Also missing practice on Wednesday morning was linebacker Denzel Perryman. The ninth-year pro was inactive for the Texans 37-17 week-three victory over the Jaguars due to a hand and wrist injury.
Blake Cashman filled in admirably for Perryman, playing in 63% of the defensive snaps, amazing six tackles, two pass deflections a fumble recovery and an interception.
