After some negotiation with the Houston Texans, top free agent running back Saquon Barkley is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, multiple media outlets reported Monday afternoon.
The Eagles are signing Barkley to a three-year contract worth up to $46.75 million with $26 million full guaranteed at signing, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
While the Texans did not land Barkley, the were in pursuit of the two-time Pro-Bowl running back. ESPN's D.J. Bien--Aime reports the Texans offered $33 million over three years, but it was not enough to sway the Pennsylvania native from returning home after six seasons with the Giants.
In addition to the Barkley signing with Philly, free agent running backs Josh Jacobs and DeAndre Swift are off the board, with Jacobs headed to the Green Bay Packers and Swift headed to the Chicago Bears.
The Packers released running back Aaron Jones and Derrick Henry is also still on the market. The Texans have interest in bringing back Devin Singletary, but could use another back, too.
