Texans safety Lonnie Johnson Jr. did not participate in practice Wednesday due to a thigh injury, the team announced.
Johnson missed the Texans' final preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was at time limited in practice throughout training camp and the preseason.
Johnson, who moved from cornerback to safety last year in his second NFL season, provides safety depth behind Justin Reid and Eric Murray.
He's provided several highlights since training camp, despite the limited action, including an interception for a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
