HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Texans outside linebacker Jacob Martin has tested positive for COVID-19 and the team is working remotely Thursday.

The Texans released a statement saying they learned of a player’s positive test Wednesday night and decided to close the facility Thursday.

The team did not identify Martin, but it has been reported by multiple media outlets.

“The player immediately self-isolated and contact tracing has begun,” the Texans’ statement said.

Martin is among five Texans defensive players with two or more sacks this season.

Martin is the second Texans player in as many weeks to test positive for COVID-19, prompting them to close the facility for a day.

Last week, offensive lineman Max Scharping tested positive for the virus. The Texans were on their bye week.

The Texans travel to the Jacksonville Jaguars, both teams 1-6, on Sunday.
