(SportsRadio 610) - Two key rotation players for the Texans are on the injured list as they head into Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Texans placed wide receiver Noah Brown (groin) and defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway (calf) on the injured-reserve list Wednesday, keeping them both out of action the next four weeks.

With Ridgeway sidelined, the Texans have just three defensive tackles on the active roster - Maliek Collins, Sheldon Rankins and Kurt Hinish. Houston also has Khalil Davis on the practice squad and signed defensive tackle Bruce Hector to the practice squad Wednesday.

As Brown heads to the injured list, second-year wide receiver John Metchie III returned to practice Wednesday. Metchie spent his rookie season recovering from leukemia and was limited in the preseason with a hamstring injury.

Expect rookie Tank Dell and Metchie to fill Brown's role.
