HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - Texans running back David Johnson has been added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Friday.

Interim head coach Romeo Crennel told the media today that Johnson missed Thursday's practice due to a personal issue, and there was a possibility that he wouldn't join them for their next game in Chicago.

Johnson's absence means that Duke Johnson will get the start at tailback, once again, this Sunday. Duke Johnson was upgraded to a full participant on Friday's practice injury report with a non-COVID-19 related illness.

It's unknown if David Johnson tested positive for the virus or if he came into contact with someone who did.

If the player tests positive, he must way until at least 10 days have passed since his symptoms initially appeared, and at least 72 hours since symptoms occurred. That player's return must then be approved by the team physician.

If the player is simply 'high risk', that player will remain on the COVID-19 list, until no less than five days have passed since the date that the player was last in contact with the infected individual.

The player can then resume activities six days after being placed on the list if all of his tests over that timeframe, are negative.
