Texans release first unofficial depth chart of 2022 season

(SportsRadio 610) - With just four days left until the Texans open the preseason at home against the New Orleans Saints, their unofficial depth chart has been released.

Most notably, two of the Texans' nine drafted rookies this year are named as starters: cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. (No. 3 overall) and safety Jalen Pitre (Round 2, 37th overall).

As for the team's other top rookies, they are either injured, playing behind someone else, or both.

Kenyon Green, drafted No. 15 overall out of Texas A&M, is dealing with a knee injury and is listed as the second-string left guard behind Justin McCray.

Christian Harris, drafted 75th overall in the third round out of Alabama, is out with a hamstring injury and is listed as a second string linebacker behind Kevin Pierre-Louis.

Houston's defensive line remains the same as it did last year, with Maliek Collins and Roy Lopez in the middle, plus the addition of Jerry Hughes on the edge. Mario Addison and Rasheem Green are listed as the edge rushers behind Hughes and Jonathan Greenard.

Veteran corner Steven Nelson is listed as the starter opposite Stingley and Jonathan Owens as the safety opposite Pitre.
