HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- With the trade deadline gone without any major moves by the Texans, focus now goes back to the active 2020 season, which is going poorly so far.
The Texans went into their bye week with a 1-6 record, after firing their head coach in Week 5, and have underperformed on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
It’s this situation that brought so much interest from other teams at the deadline, hoping the Texans would part with key players for pennies on the dollar.
The Texans didn’t bite.
So what are reasonable expectations for this team in 2020?
If the playoffs are out of the picture, perhaps it could be simply not stinking.
“I think everybody thinks we stink,” Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel said Wednesday during a virtual press conference. “And so, I’m going to tell them that we stink. And then, if we can do better than that, if we can get some deodorant, then we’ll smell a little bit better. So, a win is like deodorant to me.”
