HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Texans interim head coach Romeo Crennel indicated Monday the team is willing to trade, but only for a substantial offer.
Crennel confirmed last week he had been informed of trade possibilities, but said teams were offering “peanuts” for the talented players on the Texans’ roster.
On Monday, Crennel noted the Texans’ minor trade moving defensive tackle Eli Ankou to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick.
But as far as moves that would significantly impact the roster, or its future?
“We will trade, but I’ve told you before I’m not trading for peanuts,” Crennel said. “If they want to make a substantial offer, we will consider it.”
Texans CEO Cal McNair indicated earlier on Texans Radio there would be no big moves. McNair said he likes the 1-6 team and believes in its chances to secure a wild card spot in the NFL’s expanded postseason.
Most of the players in trade rumors are the Texans’ top wide receivers: Will Fuller, Brandin Cooks, Randall Cobb and Kenny Stills.
A report from MMQB.com’s Albert Breer last week said the only Texans players off limits for a trade are quarterback Deshaun Watson, defensive end J.J. Watt, and offensive tackles Laremy Tunsil and Tytus Howard.
