Texans rookie QB C.J. Stroud ranks second in 2024 Pro Bowl voting

(SportsRadio 610) - Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud ranks second in balloting for the 2024 Pro Bowl Games Vote, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Stroud leads the NFL in passing yards per game (295), making him the third rookie in NFL history to lead the league in passing yards with a minimum of 75% of team games played. He is also the only rookie over the last 40 years to lead a game-winning drive starting in the final two minutes of regulation in back-to-back games, which he did last month against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cincinnati Bengals.

Stroud is the first rookie in NFL history to record 300 passing yards in four consecutive games and has now thrown for 300 yards and two touchdown passes in five games this season, tied with Justin Herbert (five games in 2020) and Andrew Luck (five games in 2012) for the most such games by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.

At just 22 years old, Stroud is the youngest player ever with at least 450 passing yards in a game, having thrown for 470 passing yards in the comeback win against Tampa Bay on Nov. 5. His efforts led to the NFL naming Stroud the AFC Offensive Player of the Month and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month.

In Pro Bowl voting, Stroud (44,095 votes) trails only Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (59,680 votes).
