HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - Texans rookie wide receiver Tank Dell was carted off the field against the Denver Broncos after suffering a fractured fibula.
Dell was caught in the wash on a touchdown run by Texans running back Dameon Pierce. He was down after the play while trainers evaluated him and teammates prayed around him. A cart was eventually used to take Dell back to the locker room.
Dell already dealt with a calf injury that limited him in practice during the week.
Dell was selected by the Texans in the third round (69th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft out of the University of Houston. He's established himself as a true offensive threat in his first year in the league. In the Week 11 win against Arizona, Dell tallied eight receptions and a touchdown while racking up 149 receiving yards, which is the most in a single game by a rookie in Texans franchise history.
Dell’s performance surpassed his own single game receiving yardage record that he set back in the Week 3 win at Jacksonville (five receptions, 145 yards, 1 touchdown), as he currently owns three of the five top performances by a first-year wideout in club history. He ranks among the top rookies in the league in several categories, including receiving yards (second), yards per reception (first), receiving touchdowns (second) and games with 100+ receiving yards (second).
