(SportsRadio 610) - The Texans are signing former Dolphins offensive lineman Michael Deiter to a one-year contract, according to multiple media reports.
Deiter spent the past four seasons mostly as a backup for Miami. He started in 15 games at left guard as a rookie in 2019, then eight games at center in 2021. Last season, Deiter only saw snaps on special teams.
KPRC's Aaron Wilson first reported the news Monday.
He joins a Texans offensive line led by left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who recently agreed to an extension making him the highest paid tackle in NFL history for a second time. Tytus Howard will start at right tackle, while the Texans' have second-year first-round pick Kenyon Green at left guard and recently traded for right guard Shaq Mason.
Deiter provides an option at center, along with Scott Quessenberry, who started in place of Justin Britt for Houston last season.
