HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans are signing 41-year-old journeyman backup quarterback Josh McCown, according to his agent Mike McCartney.
The Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson reported the news Wednesday afternoon.
McCown had been on the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad.
The Texans have A.J. McCarron as their backup to Deshaun Watson, so it is unclear where McCown fits on the depth chart.
McCown, a Texas native who played college football at Sam Houston State, has been in the league since 2002.
