(SportsRadio 610) -- Cornerback Keion Crossen is headed to the New York Giants in a trade the Texans announced Monday afternoon.

Crossen spent the past two seasons with the Texans after being traded for a conditional pick from the New England Patriots in 2019. Crossen started four games last season after the Texans were hit with injuries throughout the defense.

The Texans are reportedly getting back a 2023 sixth-round pick for Crossen, who led the team with four tackles in their preseason opening win against the Green Bay Packers.

The move indicates Houston's leadership feels confident in the depth added to their defensive backs room.

Bradley Roby, who was activated from the COVID-19 list Monday, is expected to start with Terrance Mitchell on the opposite side and Desmond King II in the slot.

Vernon Hargreaves III, Tremon Smith, Shyheim Carter, John Reid and Cornell Armstrong are also competing for playing time at corner.

The Texans also waived second-year wide receiver Isaiah Coulter, who they drafted in the fifth round last year, and running back Dontrell Hilliard.

Both players factored out of crowded position groups.
