(SportsRadio 610) - The Texans had never gone through an entire draft without taking a defensive lineman. That will not change.
General manager traded picks No. 166 and No. 207 to the Cleveland Browns on Saturday so Houston could select former Stanford defensive end Thomas Booker at No. 150 overall.
Head coach Lovie Smith has called the defensive front "the engine" of what they do on that side of the ball. With Booker, the Texans add a player who's been contributing to Stanford's team since he was a freshman in 2018.
Booker told reporters the team might explore using him as a three-technique defensive tackle, given his size (6-4, 309 pounds) and versatility.
