HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans' struggles continue as they fall to the Minnesota Vikings 31-23 Sunday at NRG Stadium.
Houston falls to 0-4 on the season with the loss.
The Texans rallied after trailing 17-6 at halftime by scoring the first 10 points of the second half, but it wasn't enough to get past the Vikings.
Minnesota was able to score touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters. The Texans had an opportunity to tie the game at the end with what was originally called a touchdown pass to Will Fuller, but the call was overturned.
In the first quarter, the Texans did nothing with the Vikings' deferral. They went three-and-out on their first two drives before the Vikings scored first with a five-yard touchdown run by Dalvin Cook.
The Texans were able to move the ball on their next drive but it ultimately stalled with an incomplete pass to Kenny Stills on 3rd and 8. Houston's defense forced a Vikings three-and-out, but DeAndre Carter fumbled the punt return and gave the ball right back to Minnesota.
The Vikings converted on a 31-yard field goal to give them a 10-0 lead.
The Texans scored on a 50-yard field goal by Ka'imi Fairbairn to cut the lead to 10-3, but the Vikings responded with a 12-play, 75-yard touchdown drive capped by another score by Cook (seven-yard TD run).
The Texans cut the lead to 17-6 with another Fairbairn field goal just before the end of the half.
