HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- With Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor expected to miss about a month of action with a hamstring injury, the team officially placed him on the injured reserve list Tuesday.
Taylor had been playing until sustaining a hamstring injury while running a 15-yard touchdown Sunday against the Cleveland Brown. The injury happened in the second quarter. Taylor was pulled from the game at halftime, allowing rookie Davis Mills to take over behind center.
Mills will start for Houston (1-1) on Thursday night when the Texans host the Carolina Panthers (2-0).
Also placed on the injured reserve is rookie wide receiver Nico Collins, who suffered a significant shoulder injury in Cleveland. Veteran slot receiver Danny Amendola, who also suffered a hamstring injury in Cleveland, is expected to miss three weeks.
Head coach David Culley said they would likely elevate a wide receiver from the practice squad before Thursday's game.
