HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans have officially cut ties with return specialist and wide receiver DeAndre Carter.
They will replace the roster spot with outside linebacker Jacob Martin, who is returning from the reserve-COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus nearly two weeks ago.
The Houston Chronicle reported Monday afternoon Carter would be cut, and the team made it official Tuesday.
Carter was replaced on kickoff returns last Sunday by running back C.J. Prosise, who had just been promoted from the practice squad but did not get any carries against the Cleveland Browns. He was replaced on punt returns by wide receiver Will Fuller.
