HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - The Houston Texans announced a significant front office move on Wednesday afternoon, promoting former senior vice president of corporate development, Greg Grissom, to the role of team president.

"Greg's extensive industry knowledge is evident by the meaningful relationships he continues to develop with our partners, our community and Texans teammates," said Texans Chairman and CEO Cal McNair. "While going through the interview process, Greg's intentional, forward-thinking approach showed an authenticity and commitment to championship-caliber excellence that made him the ideal choice to take on this role."

According to the release from the organization, Grissom's responsibilities will include overseeing marketing, communications, broadcasting, ticket sales and services, event services, corporate sponsorship, community relations, accounting, legal, human resources, and general administration. Grissom will also oversee all aspects over Lone Star Sports and Entertainment.

"I am grateful to the McNair family for providing me the opportunity to lead this exceptional group of dedicated and talented professionals," said Grissom in a statement. "We will build on our success by fostering innovative measures that provide world-class events and memorable experiences for our fans. We will be bold and forthright in our pursuit of excellence while doing great things for Houston in the process."

Grissom has been with the Texans since its inaugural season in 2002 as a corporate sales manager, and he has held many other positions as well, including director of corporate development, senior director of corporate development, and most recently, the aforementioned vice president of corporate development role.
