Texans general manager Nick Caserio was open about the fact they are going to be looking to upgrade the offensive line again this offseason.
The Texans had four new starters at various points, with the only constant being Tytus Howard, who floated from tackle to guard as he is known to do.
Otherwise, it was all new faces, whether it be trade acquisitions like right guard Ed Ingram, or a draft pick like rookie left tackle Aireontae Ersery. They also played third-year center Jake Andrews for the entire season.
There were mixed results, but ultimately it was not good enough. The Texans finished the season ranked last in run block win rate and 20th in pass block win rate.
Seth Payne and Sean Pendergast discuss the tiers ESPN's Bill Barnwell organized free agents into; and why the Texans should seriously think about the only top tier offensive lineman on the list in center Tyler Linerbaum.
For context, Linderbaum was ranked fourth among interior offensive linemen in pass block win rate. No one for Houston ranked in the top 20.
