(SportsRadio 610) -- J.J. Watt's 10 seasons with the Houston Texans are first ballot Hall of Fame worthy.

The three things that come to mind about Watt as a Texan, which officially ended Friday with the two parties agreeing to part ways, are as follows:

1. The three NFL Defensive Player of the Year Awards

We had an opportunity to watch Watt who at his peak, was the greatest defensive player I've ever seen.

I don't know if you can say he's the greatest defensive player in the history of the NFL. He's one of only three players to win the award three times, but injuries eventually slowed him down.

But peak J.J. Watt, in that four-year period he was winning the defensive player of the year, I've never seen a better defensive player. He was incredible.

2. The injuries

And not what the injuries took from Watt, but his ability to come back from them. There were two herniated disc surgeries in his back; a traumatic leg injury and became an All-Pro again; and returning from a torn pectoral midway through the 2019 season for a playoff run.

The sheer toughness stands out.

3, His generosity

What he did during Hurricane Harvey, using his platform to raise millions of dollars for the community. His charity softball event is the best charity event I've been to.

Watt is really the perfect football player.
