Texans WR Tank Dell has a long road to recovery with multiple knee surgeries

It will be a long road to recovery for Texans wide receiver Tank Dell, who once appeared to be on his way to stardom.

The University of Houston product was a playmaking machine as a rookie in 2023 before a broken fibula ended his season prematurely. Now in his second season, another freak injury is yet again ending his season, but this time it appears career threatening.

On a touchdown scored against the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this month, Dell suffered dislocated knee cap, but also a torn ACL, MCL and LCL. It means he will likely miss not only the remainder of this season, but the 2025 season, too.

This is a career altering injury from the standpoint that Dell likely won't see the field until 2026, which is a contract season. Even one fully healthy season at the back end of his rookie contract would not make up for the time missed in the first three seasons.

Seth Payne and Sean Pendergast discuss Dell's long road to recovery here.
