The Mets have seen their first shakeup in the Steve Cohen era.

General manager Brodie Van Wagenen was among several key members of the Mets front office to step down on Friday, the team announced -- only hours after the completion of Cohen's purchase of the franchise.

Van Wagenen's two-year tenure ends with the arrival of Cohen and newly returned team president Sandy Alderson.

Joining Van Wagenen in departing was former GM Omar Minaya, who returned to the Mets as special assistant to Alderson in 2017.

They were joined by top-ranking lieutenants in the team's baseball operations including Allard Baird, Adam Guttridge, and Jared Banner.

Alderson thanked the departing executives in a statement.

"I want to thank Brodie, Allard, Adam and Jared for their contributions over the last two years," Alderson said. "I especially want to thank Omar for his long and distinguished service to the Mets in many important capacities."
