Desperate times call for desperate hairstyle changes.

After the Los Angeles Angels lost their 12th game in a row earlier this month, Joe Maddon got a mohawk in an attempt to loosen things up during an obviously tense time for the team.
But ESPN's Tim Kurkjian says that the players never actually saw the 68-year-old's mohawk, because he was fired by the team just hours after getting the haircut:
Former San Diego Padres' slugger Phil Nevin -- who had been Maddon's third-base coach -- was named the interim manager. But while the Philadelphia Phillies won their first eight games under interim manager Rob Thomson before losing Sunday, the Angels have gone just 2-3 since firing Maddon.
