The second pick of the NBA draft and Minnesota native Chet Holmgren will miss his rookie season after sustaining a Lisfranc injury.
Holmgren injured his right foot during a ProAm game in Seattle. On the play, Holmgren defended LeBron James on a fast break. While Holmgren defended the rim, he hobbled off the court with the apparent right foot injury.
The Minnehaha Academy graduate declared for the NBA after one season at Gonzaga. He was selected second by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA draft. He showed promise after his first NBA Summer League game, scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks.
After Holmgren's diagnosis was revealed, the NBA world reacted.
