Luka Doncic continues to be one of the league's brightest young stars, putting in another impressive performance Saturday night in a 115-98 win over the Brooklyn Nets with 27 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

The 21-year-old is averaging 28.5 points, nine assists and 8.4 rebounds per game this season and is drawing comparisons to all sorts of great players, including his Saturday night counterpart, James Harden.

Harden seemed to agree with that comparison.

“There are some similarities,” he said, per ESPN. “He never lets anyone speed him up, and he gets what he wants. That’s rare for a guy at a young age. I think he’s 21 years old. And to be able to dictate the game and control the game like he does, we all know he has a very, very bright future.

“The Mavs got a special one.”

That’s high praise coming from a former league MVP and three-time NBA scoring champion.

“It’s something you can’t even describe if somebody like that says something about you,” Doncic said, when informed of Harden’s comments. “It’s just amazing. I really appreciate it. I watch him. He’s an unbelievable player and just a really special talent.”

Saturday’s win over the Nets marked Dallas’ seventh victory in their last nine games, putting the Mavs back at .500 at 16-16.

The Nets, meanwhile, had an eight-game winning streak snapped as both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were unavailable.
