A potential James Harden-Ben Simmons trade may indeed have to wait until the offseason.

After reports Friday suggested the Brooklyn Nets were open to discussions, the Philadelphia 76ers have not yet been contacted by anyone from the Nets front office regarding a potential Harden-Simmons blockbuster, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski also reported that the Nets and Sixers have not even spoken to one another in the last four weeks, adding that when Daryl Morey broached the possibility of Harden, GM Sean Marks flatly said, “No.”

Fischer also added that the Nets ultimately have no intention of dealing Harden ahead of Thursday’s 3 p.m ET trade deadline.

This all falls in line with Nets head coach Steve Nash’s comments on Sunday when he adamantly denied that the organization had any interest in trading Harden.

Harden, who remains day-to-day with hamstring tightness, has reportedly become frustrated with how things have gone in Brooklyn, although he continues to tell teammates, coaches and the front office that he is committed to winning in Brooklyn long term, per Woj.

He is set to become a free agent this summer, however, which has fueled speculation of a reunion with Morey in Philadelphia in a potential sign-and-trade.

Simmons, meanwhile, continues to not play for the 76ers but remains unlikely to be traded as Morey and the Sixers brass are adamant on getting an All-Star caliber player like Harden, or Washington’s Bradley Beal, in return.
