(SportsRadio 610) - One of Houston's best men's basketball players is deciding to consider his future elsewhere, whether the NBA or another college.

Cougars guard Tramon Mark announced Saturday on Twitter, just a few hours before the Final Four to be held at NRG Stadium in Houston, that he's entering his name in the 2023 NBA Draft, while also maintaining his college eligibility and entering into the transfer portal.

"I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way, particularly my family, coaches, teammates and fans," Mark posted. "Without all of you, I would not be where I am today. I am excited for the next steps of my journey. I will continue to work to be the best person I can, both on and off the floor."

Mark, a 6'5" junior out of Dickinson, Texas, averaged 10.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game this past season, which ended in the Sweet 16 with Houston's loss to Miami.

Mark competed in 76 games with 41 starts during his Houston career. As a redshirt sophomore in 2022-23, he started all 37 games as the Cougars competed in the NCAA Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive season.

Houston head coach Kelvin Sampson released the following statement:

“Houston Basketball thanks Tramon for all his contributions to our program during the last three seasons. We wish him and his family all the best in the future,” Head Coach Kelvin Sampson said.
