Hall of Fame basketball coach Bobby Knight, the sixth-winningest coach in Division I men’s college basketball history, died on Wednesday at the age of 83, his family said.
Knight, a polarizing figure due to his temper, was a three-time national champion as head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers and his first championship in 1976 he led the team to an undefeated season – a feat that has not been accomplished since.
