(SportsRadio 610) - Week three in the Lone Star State was highlighted by bounce back games, an embarrassing loss at home and a failed road test.

Here are this week’s Lone Star Rankings. Send all complaints to @LandryLocker on Twitter and Instagram.
No. 10: UNT
The 2-2 Mean Green are an 11.5 point underdog to Memphis and right on the edge of falling out of the Top 10 of the Lone Star rankings.
No. 9: Rice
Rice’s only loss of the season came to a very good USC team on the road. This week they have a chance to give Houston their third-straight loss as a three-score dog down the street.
No. 8: Houston
Dana Holgorsen’s 1-2 team has looked like an undisciplined mess and got dominated by Kansas in their home-opener. If the Coogs lose to Rice at home then Holgorsen will be on the hottest seat in the state.
No. 7: SMU
This weekend is the biggest game of the season on the SMU schedule and their fans along with some of their players want nothing more than to beat their their biggest rival (TCU) and TCU head coach Sonny Dykes who bailed on them to go down the street to Fort Worth.
No. 6: UTSA
UTSA got beat by Texas, but it wasn’t because Coach Jeff Traylor got outcoached, Texas just had more talent. The Road Runners played Houston and Texas tough, but now the schedule gets a lot easier starting with a matchup against Texas Southern.
No. 5: Texas Tech
Tech is coming off a road loss to NC State, but will have an opportunity to ignite the entire fanbase and program in head coach Jeff Jeff McGuire’s first year with a win over a hated rival. Lubbock is going to be CRAZY Saturday when Texas comes to town, it always is. Plus, this could be the last time in a long time, maybe forever, Texas visits before they leave for the SEC.
No. 4: Baylor
Baylor is a good football team, but being a preseason Top 10 team was a reach. Saturday will be the second time in this young season the Bears have been a road underdog . Last time they lost in OT to BYU, this time they’re in Ames for a meeting with unbeaten Iowa State, who hasn’t faced a team as good as Baylor.
No. 3: TCU
The Horned Frogs are coming off a bye week and will face high-powered SMU as just a 1.5-point favorite this week. TCU is one of the most intriguing teams in the state with a lot of speed on offense and a first-year coach in Sonny Dykes will be the most hated man in the Stadium Saturday. If they get by SMU then No. 6 Oklahoma is next. We will learn a lot about TCU in the next eight days.
No 2: Texas
Bijan Robinson had 183 yards and 3 TD as Texas was able to pull away from UTSA in the second-half and win 41-20. This week Texas is going into one of the rowdiest atmospheres in the Big 12 against a good Tech team that wants nothing more than to kick their ass. This will be Steve Sarkisian and whoever starts at quarterback’s first experience in this crazy Lubbock environment.
No. 1: Texas A&M
Texas A&M avoided all hell breaking loose in College Station by holding off Miami on national TV. If they are able to beat a Top-10 Arkansas team and start the season 3-1 then some would say the ship has been righted by Jimbo Fisher.
