DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn't have any concerns with Dak Prescott's shoulder injury with the season opener just over two weeks away.

"I wouldn't be nervous this morning as to where he is in his recovery. He's there," Jones said on Shan and RJ on 105.3 The Fan. "I'd like for him to have this week of practice just to get ready to play Tampa, but we've got two weeks. The bottom line is he's there. Everything we're can do to be extra careful with any issues he has are just not worth the gain out here at practice to not get him the rest. And that's very common for soft tissue-type injuries to get the rest.

"When he wants to right now, he can let it go. (He) does in a lot of the exercises he does (as far as) actually throwing the ball. That'll increase each day as we go toward Tampa (on Sept. 9)."

ESPN's Adam Schefter speculated last week that Prescott may not be at full strength all season, while NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero reported over the weekend that the Cowboys quarterback has had "absolutely no setbacks" in his rehab.

So, how concerned are the Cowboys about his ability to stay healthy throughout the season?

"I would say 100-percent of any type of restriction that he's having right now in his routine is about later in the season," Jones said. "I have no compunction about him going out there and playing against Tampa, or for that matter, playing early. I just want to do everything we can so that there are no issues as we go on through the season because we didn't give it a little rest (before the season)."

Prescott didn't play against the Texans in the team's preseason game at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, but he was able to go through a pregame workout on the field, which included him throwing about 50 balls to teammates.

After the workout, Jones joined the pregame show on 105.3 The Fan and said Prescott would have been playing in the game if it were a regular-season game.

"He threw with authority and accuracy before the game. If we were lining up against Tampa tonight, he'd be starting - and we'd feel great about it."

Prescott, who resumed throwing on Aug. 10, has been limited in training camp practices by the Cowboys training staff in an effort to build up his throwing workload after he suffered a strained latissimus muscle in his right shoulder.
