About halfway through the second quarter, it appeared as if the Kansas City Chiefs caught a huge break.
A Tom Brady pass intended for Mike Evans was tipped and landed into the hands of defensive back Tyrann Mathieu for a crucial interception.
But then the refs got involved.
A flag was thrown on the play against Kansas City, calling Charvarius Ward for defensive holding on Evans.
The penalty negated the interception and gave the Bucs a first down. The Bucs capitalized, finishing the drive with Brady connecting with Rob Gronkowski for a touchdown to go up 14-3.
Mathieu was flabbergasted by the call, confused as to why he was having an interception taken away from him.
Others on Twitter felt the same way, voicing their frustration with the officiating and that call in particular.
Others pointed out that the Chiefs were beating themselves with the amount of penalties they had committed up until that point in the game.
At halftime, CBS Sports analyst Boomer Esiasion took issue with the officiating in general.
