Alvin Kamara's six-touchdown performance on Christmas Day made a lot of fantasy football owners happy, including the son of the running back's quarterback Drew Brees.
Brees said Monday that his son Baylen officially won his championship game thanks to Kamara’s NFL-record tying performance in the Saints’ 52-33 against the Vikings.
“Baylen was in the finals and I guess six touchdowns gets you 56 fantasy points, so that turned out to be pretty good,” Brees said. “That pretty much sealed the deal. He destroyed the other guy thanks to Alvin.”
But Kamara hasn’t just helped fantasy owners earn wins this year, he done so for the Saints.
Kamara rushed for a career-high 155 yards in the victory against Minnesota and his six touchdowns gave him a franchise record 21 total for the season.
Brees said that fourth-year running back out of Tennessee, who’s currently third in the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 1,688, has been extremely important to New Orleans run at a fourth straight NFC South title.
“He’s had a phenomenal season,” Brees said. “He’s been available he’s been as good in the run game as he has in the pass game as he has been in protection. So I certainly feel like this has been his best season.”
