NFL kickers roasted on social media after rough day at the office

Nobody said life as an NFL kicker was easy.

On Sunday, kickers bore the brunt of jokes and mockery on social media as multiple kickers across the league continued to miss field goals, extra points and chip shots.

It started with the Vikings game, a franchise with a history of kicking woes, when Dan Bailey missed three field goals – from 36, 54 and 46 yards – and an extra point attempt, which is, of course, 33 yards out. That was 10 points Bailey cost the Vikings. They lost the game 24-16.

Whatever had gotten into Bailey also seemed to get into Jets kicker Serio Castillo as well. He missed three of his own – from 43, 41 and 37 yards out – but did convert a 45-yard field goal to put the Jets up 3-0.

Unlike Bailey, the Jets were never in their game against the Seahawks, trailing by 34 points thethe Seahawks at the start of the fourth quarter.

As Castillo was dealing with his struggles in Seattle, Jake Elliott was having problems of his own in Philadelphia. The Eagles kicker missed an easy 22-yard chip shot that would have given Philadelphia a 20-0 lead at the time.

Elliott was not the only one with kicking problems in this game, though, as Saints kicker Will Lutz missed a 45-yard field goal himself.

Naturally, the putrid performance from kickers led to them getting roasted on social media, with many fans saying they do not want to hear anymore criticism of Sarah Fuller – the female kicker on Vanderbilt who made history over the weekend converting two extra point attempts.
