As Louisiana continues to pick up the pieces from Hurricane Ida's devastation, the NFL has joined a growing list that's pledged support for the relief efforts.

The league announced Wednesday that the NFL Foundation would be sending $1 million to aid in relief efforts, specifically to the Gulf Coast Renewal Fund, launched this week along with an initial $1 million donation from team owner Gayle Benson.

"The entire NFL family stands with those impacted by Hurricane Ida," wrote the league in announcing the contribution.

The donation is one of many notable NFL names pledging support in the aftermath of the storm that's left much of South Louisiana without power and has caused the Saints to relocate to Dallas, where they'll use TCU's facilities as they prepare for the 2021 season. The league and team announced that their Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers will be played at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville with the Caesars Superdome unable to host games.

New Orleans native and former LSU star Leonard Fournette, now a running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was in that number, pledging $100,000 to his home city. Falcons owner Arthur Blank also pledged $1 million, half of which will go the the American Red Cross, with the remainder going to the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Panthers Charities and the Tepper Foundation announced a $1 million donation to aid relief efforts in New Orleans and the surrounding area, while the Baltimore Ravens and the Stephen and Renee Bisciotti Foundation announced a $1 million donation split between the Greater New Orleans Foundation, United Way of Southeast Louisiana and the American Red Cross
