Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills are reportedly clearing more cap space by restructuring defensive tackle Ed Oliver's contract ahead of the start of the NFL league year that begins at 4 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon.
Oliver, a Westfield product who played his college ball at the University of Houston, signed his current four-year deal worth $68 million back in 2023. The deal had roughly $24 million guaranteed at signing along with $45 million guaranteed across the whole contract. According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, the restructuring of the deal will clear $10 million in cap space for the Bills.
Oliver was drafted from Houston with the ninth overall by the Bills in the 2019 NFL Draft. In his six seasons with the Bills, he's appeared in 92 games recording 27 sacks and 231 tackles in that time. He also has eight forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception and a safety.
