Better late than never?
After not mentioning the Patriots or their fans in his initial retirement post on Tuesday, Brady has now followed up with some Patriots love in numerous social media posts since.
Brady posted thank-yous to the Patriots and Bill Belichick to his Instagram story after first Robert Kraft and then Belichick released glowing statements about him. Then on Thursday, he posted his most notable Patriots-related content yet.
Brady shared a video to his Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts that features numerous Patriots memories, including the six Super Bowl titles, as well as some Buccaneers moments.
It also includes parts of the interview he gave to NBC after his return to Gillette Stadium in October, when he called New England his "home for 20 years" and said he will be "part of this community for a long time."
Brady also included a written caption with the post that reads:
As I look back on my career in football, the memories we have made, and the relationships we have built are by far the most meaningful. Yes, the scoreboard was important, but the toughest times always taught me the most important lessons.
I am grateful to the people that stood with me through every high and low, win and loss, and the memories we created TOGETHER. Memories that won't ever fade.
I played for the name on the front of my jersey and the name on the back of my jersey. I played for my friends, my family, and our community - every single one of you - that have given me what I have today.
I love you all. Thank you ALL for making this incredible journey possible.
