Tom Brady's mysterious absence from Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp is coming to an end.
Bucs head coach Todd Bowles announced in a press conference Sunday that the 45-year-old quarterback will be back with the team early this week.
Brady has been excused from Bucs practice since Aug. 11 for unknown reasons, although the leave of absence had been cleared prior to the start of camp.
Bowles did not have a definitive date for Brady's return and that vagueness, coupled with the mystery of why he was absent from camp for 10 days, led to many questions and internet theories as to what was going on with Brady.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Aug. 11 that it was described to him as "important to find a work life balance," suggesting that Brady had a family commitment or perhaps just did not want to deal with the dog days of training camp at 45 years old.
That did not stop the speculation, though, as some wondered if Brady was reconsidering retirement while others even theorized that the quarterback was appearing on FOX's show "The Masked Singer" and was missing time to film his part.
Nevertheless, the speculation can probably come to an end as the seven-time Super Bowl champion will be back this week. Whether or not he clears any specifics of his time off remains to be seen but the Bucs have made it pretty clear it was not a concern of theirs.
