Expectations were not high for the Lions-Bears Thanksgiving Day game and things were already getting messy during the coin toss.
The Lions had won the toss and elected to defer, which prompted the official to ask the Bears if they want the ball.
That is when linebacker Christian Jones made things a bit confusing and replied, "I want to defer."
The official told him that the Lions deferred and that they want the ball.
After clarifying that, the Lions chose which side to kick and the game started, but it was certainly a bizarre moment prior to the game.
