Lexy Panterra is making room for new music, new business plans and a baby girl.

The singer, dancer and entrepreneur stopped by Star 94 for a conversation about her upcoming project, the return of her dance fitness program, Twerkout, and how preparing for motherhood is adding to her motivation.

For listeners getting to know Panterra, music and dance have been part of her life since childhood. She recalled taking different dance classes, performing at school events and participating in musicals, all while knowing she wanted to become a singer.

That willingness to explore still shapes her approach to music. As an independent artist, Panterra said she values having the freedom to experiment with different genres and make her own creative decisions.

“When you’re an artist, don’t put me in a box,” Panterra said.

She said she is releasing one single at a time, with a new song and accompanying visuals each month. The videos follow a monochromatic concept, with Panterra wearing one color in each video.

Her song “Why Lie” draws from experiences with dishonesty and feeling hidden in a relationship. Panterra described it as a reflection on asking for honesty, recognizing what she has accepted in the past and deciding what she will no longer tolerate. She said its music video was filmed in Miami.

Beyond music, Panterra discussed plans to relaunch Twerkout. While the classes combine dance and fitness, she said the experience also helps participants build confidence and discover what their bodies can do.

“It’s about confidence, honestly, and what you can do with your own body,” she said.

Panterra also addressed the pressure that can come with being visible online. Asked about criticism, she said developing thicker skin takes time and emphasized the importance of continuing to do what makes her happy rather than allowing one person’s opinion to determine her choices.

Now, she is preparing for another change: welcoming her daughter.

“I’ve always wanted children, but now is the right time for me,” Panterra said.

She described feeling increasingly motivated as she works on music and builds businesses. Becoming a parent also has her thinking about how she wants her daughter to experience creativity and develop her own personality.

Despite her own experience with social media, Panterra said she wants some separation between those platforms and her child, giving her daughter room to discover her interests without pressure to imitate others.
