A sweet and shy dog named Peony is searching for a forever home through LifeLine Animal Project and DeKalb County Animal Services.

At 3 years old, Peony is described as a gentle dog with a beautiful smile and a personality that blossoms once she feels comfortable around new people. Named after the flower, Peony is known for her sweet nature and affectionate side, especially when treats are involved.

While she may be a little reserved at first, shelter staff say she quickly warms up with patience and kindness.

“Treats are the way to her heart,” according to LifeLine Animal Project. “She warms up in no time when offered some.”

Peony is hoping to find a family that will give her the love and stability she deserves. Shelter staff believe she would make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give her the time she needs to settle into a new home.

Potential adopters can meet Peony at DeKalb County Animal Services, located at 3280 Chamblee Dunwoody Road in Chamblee. No appointment is necessary to visit the shelter and meet adoptable pets.

In addition to Peony, hundreds of dogs and cats are currently available for adoption through the shelter.

For more information about Peony or the adoption process, interested individuals can email adoption@dekalbanimalservices.com or call 404-294-2165.

LifeLine Animal Project encourages anyone considering adding a pet to their family to stop by and see if Peony could be their new best friend.
