It's amazing how love from a stranger can restore hope to families during the holiday season. This is the mission of the Hope for the Holidays gift drive at The Children's Institute. Hope for the Holidays supports children and families from Allegheny, Beaver, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. These families are dealing with many challenges and their first priority is securing their basic needs. You can help with providing holidays filled with joy, happiness, and gifts!

The Children’s Institute believes strong families are at the heart of healthy communities. Their dedicated team provides a wide array of services to help families and children grow stronger, from prevention and reunification services to care coordination services. All programs are built around the idea of permanency — supporting safe, nurturing, and lasting families — and putting the health and safety of the child first.

All programs at The Children’s Institute give parents the knowledge, skills, support and hands-on training they needed to meet their child’s special needs. Many of these families are dealing with extremely difficult issues. Financial struggles, mental illness, substance addiction, medical disabilities, lack of transportation and extreme poverty are not uncommon for the families served. While they struggle to provide even the most basic necessities for their families, they also want to make sure their children experience a joyful holiday season.
