The Padres beat the Brewers 3-2 in 10 innings on Monday night. Nick Martinez was able to escape a bases loaded no out jam without allowing a run in the 4th inning thanks to an unbelievable diving play by Jake Cronenworth. Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th, Trent Grisham laid down an RBI-squeeze bunt, allowing Wil Myers to score from third base and tie the game. The Brewers loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the 10th inning, but the Padres were able to turn a 1-2-3 double play, and then get Rowdy Tellez to ground out to first to escape their second bases loaded no out situation without allowing a run in the game. In the bottom of the 10th, the Padres loaded the bases as well, and Jose Azocar came through with a 2-out single to win the game, as the Padres improved to 28-14.
