The Padres earned their 3rd straight win, beating the A's 5-2 on Saturday, putting them in position to sweep the A's on Sunday and win 4 games in a row for the first time all season. Matt Waldron was solid, allowing just 2 earned runs through 5.1 innings, with the bullpen shutting out the A's over the final 3.2 innings. Juan Soto drove in 2 runs, including drawing a bases loaded-walk in the 4th inning. Xander Bogaerts' bat also continued to show signs of life, as he collected 2 hits including an RBI-single in the 1st inning. Josh Hader pitched a scoreless 9th inning to earn his 29th save of the season. Nick Martinez is scheduled to start Sunday's series finale.
