The Padres defeated the Rockies 2-0 on Tuesday night, behind fantastic pitching and a timely home run in the bottom of the 9th. Blake Snell was electric, striking out 10 over 7 no-hit innings. Having thrown 104 pitches, Bob Melvin elected to pull Snell and bring in Robert Suarez after talking things over with Snell and the two agreeing it would be difficult for Snell to pitch 2 more innings. With the game tied at zero, the Padres loaded the bases with just 1 out in the bottom of the 8th inning, but Jurickson Profar grounded into an inning-ending 1-2-3 double play. After Josh Hader gave up 2 hits to end the team's combined no-hit bid in the top of the 9th inning, Xander Bogaerts belted a 2-run walk-off home run in the bottom half of the inning to give the Padres their 6th win in a row. A win on Wednesday would give the Padres their 2nd straight series sweep.
