AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The threat of severe weather Friday morning has forced organizers to cancel this year's Austin Veteran's Day parade - the first time the event has been scheduled since the pandemic.

The 67th annual event had been set for downtown Austin along Congress Avenue Friday morning.

"Due to weather risk and to ensure the safety of all involved, the 2022 Veterans Day Parade is CANCELLED," organizers wrote in a Facebook post.

Organizers say they're looking into the possibility of rescheduling events in the future.
