Man struck and killed by tanker truck in Arlington

Arlington police will ask the District Attorney to decide if a tanker truck driver should be charged in a deadly accident over the weekend.

Saturday night, police two men were in a fist fight on the sidewalk along a stretch of Abram Street near Fielder Road.

As they fought, the tanker drove past just at the moment one of the men lost his balance and fell right in front of the tanker. The man died at the hospital.

Witnesses say the truck driver initially stopped to check on the victim but then drove away. However, he returned to the scene while and spoke to police.

Police say there are no charges against the driver right now but they will consult with the DA to make the final decision.
