Shan and RJ react to report that Cowboys 'have thrown around idea' of Trey Lance as long-term QB1

On a recent edition of NFL Network's 'The Insiders,' Jane Slater and Bucky Brooks discussed Dak Prescott's future as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys and where backup quarterback Trey Lance, who will also be a free agent along with Prescott next offseason, might factor into the conversation.

Slater said she hadn't heard that the Cowboys' decision-makers discussed letting Prescott walk next offseason so they could pivot to the much cheaper option of re-signing Trey Lance. However, Brooks says he believes that scenario has been discussed by the front office.
