Klay Thompson's dad is disappointed that he didn't become a Laker

Not everyone is happy with Klay Thompson joining the Dallas Mavericks, even his own father.

To be fair, Mychal Thompson is more disappointed about his son not becoming a Los Angeles Laker than he is about Klay joining Dallas.

Thompson is a former two-time NBA Champion with the Lakers and works as a radio analyst for Lakers games, so he was in a sour mood when his son decided not to join the purple and gold.

“I’m not feeling too much in a congratulatory mood,” Mychal said Tuesday on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “We always talked about him playing for the Lakers if he was not a Golden State Warrior, where else would he want to play? Of course, being a fan of Kobe’s, he would have loved to play for the Lakers. But he had a chance and when the chance came, he chose the Mavericks instead. I’ll live with it. I accept it and am happy for him that he’s happy with his decision.

Shan and RJ reacted to Thompson's comments on Wednesday's show.
