As CeeDee Lamb continues to hold out, Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones said Thursday after the team's joint practice against the Los Angeles Rams that he doesn't "have a sense of urgency" to get a deal done with the wideout.
That quote, captured by the media members including Jon Machota, caught the attention of Lamb, who responded by writing "lol" on X, formally Twitter.
Later Thursday, Nick Harris of DallasCowboys.com and Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News added more context to what Jones said.
"I just ... I went to high school. I went to college. I don’t know why I said it. I don't have a sense of urgency about getting it done. Put any reason you want. I was at Nobu two days ago. Give that as the reason," Jones said while laughing with reporters when asked why he doesn't have urgency to get a deal done by the end of the preseason.
Lamb also removed "America's Team" from his bio on X.
